Description:

This textured, monochrome cushion has been handwoven by women artisans in the North-eastern state of Nagaland, home to several indigenous tribal groups with rich craft traditions. Traditional textiles in Nagaland are typically woven on a short-width, back-strap loom, also known as a loin loom. Weaving is an integral part of everyday life for many Naga women, seamlessly woven into the daily schedule. Weaving has also become a source of livelihood for the women, with a growing interest in the textural, short-width Naga weaves that translate beautifully to textiles for the home.
